Weather Queen Exterior Screen Porch Shades have been protecting screen porches for over 14 years in Northwestern Wisconsin. We now are also protecting screen porches in Minnesota, Upstate New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. The purpose of our patented shade system is to make screen porches into the easy care outdoor living space they are meant to be.
We use Sunbrella® Awning and Marine Fabric which is a 100% solution died acrylic fabric, and warrantied against fading and ware for 10 years. This fabric is designed for not only awnings, but also boat top applications and used in salt water areas.

Our Windstop Track:
Powder coated for long term beauty and outdoor durability. For coastal applications we offer AAMA 2605 rated paint coating. Custom color matching is available.
This is our basic system. Each screen porch offers different challenges. By working with quality builders and giving them the tools and a variety of hardware for different applications, our homeowners can be assured of a long term durable solution to protecting their screen porch. Our patented screen porch system is much like installing a window. We also offer motorization if needed.
This is our most basic lift system, shown from the exterior of the porch before the top of the shade is attached to the head rail.
Here is our builder attaching the top of the shade to the head rail. The head rail and shade top edge has tent grade Velcro to align the shade squarely on the head rail. Once the shade is adjusted to lift and lower evenly stainless steel screws are drilled into the head rail, in the top stainless steel eyelets provided, giving one more layer of security.
Shades shown in a variety of lift positions and interior view:
The lift cords enter the interior of the screen porch through a 3/8” entry hole covered with our thru-the-wall pulley. Each individual shade can be easily lowered and lifted to meet the needs of exterior weather conditions.
Sun: Weather Queen Shades block the sun from your porch while you are visiting with neighbors on a nice afternoon, enjoying a book or sneaking a cat nap.
Temperature: Weather Queen Shades can be lowered on the east side in the morning and west side in the afternoon to keep hot sun out and cool your porch. In the late fall and winter months, Weather Queen Shades can block the cold wind and keep the heat from a fireplace or other heat source in your porch extending your screen porch season.
Pollen and Dirt: The shades keep pollen and dirt off your screens and out of your screen porch. The vertical smooth line of the shades face is easily sprayed off with warm water or brushed off with a soft brush or swifter pad. For pollen, use a solution of warm water with a mild soap such as Dawn dishwashing liquid. A cleaner canister attached to a hose system works wonders. For salt water areas add 1 cup of white vinegar to a gallon of your cleaning solution. Always rinse with clear water once your cleaning is done.
Complete cleaning instructions come with each shade installation.
Rain and Snow: Weather Queen Shades can easily be lowered from inside you screen porch when a rain shower or snow storm is approaching. As easy to adjust as an interior shade, means you are more likely to lower the shades when not at home and keep your screen porch clean and protected.
Wind: The Windstop™ Track secures the shades to your home’s exterior. Each shade has rigid stainless steel rods encased in the back pleats that lock into the channel on the track when the wind pushed against them. In high wind areas like large bodies of water, a narrower width, 60” or less, is recommended. This gives the stainless steel rods more support from the Windstop™ Track channel. The side flange of the track keeps the wind from getting behind the shades.
Noise: When lowered, Weather Queen Shades mute the outside noise. This is especially nice if you live near a busy street or when your neighbors seem to be a little too close.
Privacy and Security: When closed, Weather Queen Shades hide the contents of your screen porch and home. If someone tries to lift them from the outside, the stainless steel rod will jam in the channel if not lifted evenly.
