Weather Queen Exterior Screen Porch Shades were developed by Carla Ingram in answer to a client’s request. Her window treatment client wanted a covering for their screen porch that could be installed on the outside of their screens but would be easy to operate from inside their screen porch.

Weather Queen® Shades whole purpose is to make your screen porch into the easy care outdoor living room you love. Our system is patented in both the US and Canada. Weather® Queen Screen porch shades are our only product. With over 27 years of working hand in hand with our homeowners, installers and builders, we have learned from each other to constantly improve our system. Our Weather Queen® Shade System is custom fabricated in our family workshop in north western Wisconsin and shipped to our dealers.

Fabricated with Sunbrella® Awning and Marine Fabric:
- Manufactured in South Carolina
- Sunbrella® Awning and Marine fabric is warrantied to not fade for t0 years
- The acrylic fabric yarn is custom dyed before being woven, assuring color matching no matter when you order.
- Built in resistance to damage from the harsh effects of sun and weather.
- Mildew resistant.
- Lowered, the acrylic tightly woven Sunbrella® fabric can warm or cool the interior of your screen porch up to 20°
- Easy care. Can be sprayed off after pollen season or even be cleaned with bleach if needed. Fabric is mildew resistant.
- No off gases, breathable and meeting all requirements for a healthy environment in your porch, no matter if it is completely closed up. The Sunbrella® Awning and Marine Fabric we use has been granted the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute’s “Children and Schools certification as low-emitting products, assuring our homeowners that this fabric contributes to healthy indoor air.

Custom fabrication
- Fabrication components used are chosen to withstand nature’s weather challenges to your screen porch.
- Stainless steel rods are locked into the back pleats assure smooth lifting and lowering, while giving maximum wind protection as they lock against the track channel
- Perfectly matched and balanced widths have flat felled seams to assure beauty and durability.
- Double side hems give stability and strength to lift smoothly with the wheeled carriers that are locked into our track system.
- Fabricated with 1/8” tolerance to be sized and perfectly square.
Tracks and motor casings are available in 10 durable powder coated finishes. Custom colors are available to blend perfectly with your screen porch exterior.

As with a permaculture, Weather Queen Shades has developed slowly in a small community. We have received tremendous support and assistance from many in our community. We want our business to be one of care and support for all involved: one that will create growth for our partner’s businesses; allow contractors to build nicer, bigger screen porches; give decorators a whole new living area to design; and provide homeowners with the protected outdoor living room they always wanted. Permaculture has been described as the science of maximizing beneficial relationships, and that is what we hope to achieve at Weather Queen.
