First coastal installation

2014 our homeowners purchase Weather Queen® Shades for their ocean front cottage.

In 2016 our homeowners called to let us know that the lift grommets where rusting and it was bleeding onto the front of the shades.

We replaced the shades, but this time we applied a protective finish to the grommets and the metal on the wheeled carriers.

In 2019 our homeowner’s daughter had our shades installed on her Maine home

In 2020 after seeing the shades we had made for their daughter, our original homeowners ordered all new shades.

On all ocean front installations we now put an extra protectant on all metal tracks and parts. Sea salt can damage anything metal. We now recommend spraying off the tracks, shades and wheeled carriers once or twice a year, as a good maintenance process.

Our total focus is honest upfront sharing of the limitations of our shades, while constantly working to improve their function, durability and beauty.

TESTIMONIAL
  • Since our home in Stone Harbor, NJ fronts a sand dune leading to the Atlantic Ocean, we needed something to protect our screened-in porch from wind, salt and water. After exploring many alternatives, we settled on Weather Queen shades. They are so durable and yet attractive for our beach house. It’s not just the shades either, but the owner, Carla, and her crew to which we give high praise. They have been absolutely outstanding to work with and fully back up their product, providing us with continued support.
