In 2015, we installed our Weather Queen® Shade System on an elevated screen porch overlooking a beautiful lake. The goal was simple. Protect the space while preserving the view.

That winter, while spending the season down south, the homeowner called to check in. From afar, she had been asking her daughter to keep an eye on the porch, curious to know if the shades were truly doing their job. Were they keeping the space clean? Was everything staying dry through the winter months? The answer was yes.

Inspired by the results, she asked us to send a sample of the Sunbrella® Silica Silver fabric to her decorator at International Market Square in Minneapolis. With confidence in the space now protected, she planned to transform the porch into a warm, welcoming retreat, complete with cozy rugs, comfortable seating, and a table perfectly suited for morning coffee with a lake view.

In 2016, we returned to take the project one step further by motorizing the shade system, adding even more convenience to a space that had quickly become a favorite part of the home.
